Cortez Pearls® Harvest Has Begun

June marks the beginning of the Cortez Pearls® harvest—one of the most unique and environmentally conscious pearl collections in the world. Cultivated in the warm, clear waters of the Sea of Cortez, these pearls are known for their ocean-made beauty. Vibrant, naturally occurring colors like peacock greens, soft silvers, deep purples are all developed naturally, with out any treatments whatsoever.
While harvest season has arrived, nothing about it is rushed. The process is entirely guided by nature—timed based on water temperature and overall health, giving each pearl a chance to reach maximum luster. Once harvested, the pearls are gently rinsed in freshwater and soaked in mineral oil. That’s it. No bleach, no dyes, no shortcuts—just the ocean’s original design.
The care doesn’t stop with the pearl. After harvest, every part of the oyster is put to use. The meat is shared with the farm team during a harvest meal—a tradition that brings everyone together. The shells are either used to cut Mabe pearls or incorporated into a locally made hand cream formula. Nothing is wasted. It’s a thoughtful, closed-loop system that supports marine health and honors the full life of the oyster.
As the harvest continues through early July, we invite you to explore the collection and experience what it means to wear something grown in harmony with the sea.
