With November bringing a colorful start to the change of the seasons, you can see why citrine landed itself as this month's birthstone. A radiating mimicry of autumn colors.
Much of the citrine you'll find on the market is a yellow to yellow-gold color, which is heavily sourced from Brazil, but can also be sourced from Zambia.
Another variety, which is one of our favorites, we refer to as the 'Maderia' shade. This is a rich orange-brown, with a beautiful depth in color. Almost like Maderia wine. Then at the end of the citrine spectrum is an even darker shade of citrine, glowing with a deep red-orange. This is what we call Fire Citrine®. These deeper and darker citrine colors primarily are sourced from Brazil, with a lot of the rough mined in the southern state of Rio Grande de Sol.
