This deep teal-blue Montana Sapphire is a true one-of-a-kind, weighing 4.43 carats and cut into a sleek freeform shape by American cutter Barbara Thomas. Its geometry feels intentional and modern, while still allowing the natural character of the crystal to lead the design.
Measuring 10.7 x 8.2 mm, it features a striking eye-visible healed fingerprint inclusion—formed when the crystal fractured during growth and later recrystallized, preserving a moment in its natural history. Within it, the hexagonal growth structure can be seen, offering a rare glimpse into the stone’s formation.
Fine, needle-like inclusions appear under 10x magnification, reminiscent of tiny asteroids suspended in motion. The primary inclusion does not reach the table surface and only lightly breaks the pavilion, allowing for a standard setting.
